Tribulation.

When my IB grades went online on Sunday, I was greeted with an N on my English A1 category. Not only was that odd, since it could only mean loss of paperwork or plagiarism, but it was very frightening as well, since it meant no IB diploma. And that means no Selectividad. And that means no university. I quickly got to work on Monday trying to figure out what caused that grade. My school’s IB coordinator had left the country and taken the IB access codes with her. The headmaster of the school was on vacation in the United States. Nobody had access to the query forms. After making sure they understood that they would solve this, they eventually found out that the N was caused by my Paper 2 for English, which apparently never made it to the examiner. That’s great considering that the school had records of me taking the exam and turning it in. So the school fucked up, and it was their job to fix it. After speaking to the IB several times, they were able to convince them to give me a grade using the other pieces of my English A1 grade. On Wednesday morning, 4 days after I should have had a diploma, I finally got it.

I’m relieved and pissed at the same time, but the important part is that I finally got a score (35), which translates to a 7,62 in Spanish university terms. Last years Industriales program had a 7,60 as a requirement, and I’ve heard that this year they are expected to fall, so it seems like this tribulation is finally going to be over.
